Newark, NJ – Inspired by a visit to the French countryside, Thibaut's new "Promenade" collection reflects
on the varied regions of France--their history and romance. Many of the designs are based on documents. Offered in traditional color schemes including yellows, reds,
and blues, patterns also feature fresh hues like periwinkle, bright coral, grass green, and aqua.
Designs include "Pompadour," a mid-scale arabesque pattern with delicate flowers, birds, and clusters of strawberries,
blueberries, and peaches. The pattern is accompanied by "Wheat," a coordinating trellis design.
"Petersburg," an ornate toile, shows pastoral scenes and countryside ruins surrounded by a geometric framework
of roman pillars embellished with lions, swans, rabbits, and elephants. "Bienvenue," representing a symbol of
"welcome," is a graphic design in a batik style with Jacobean flowers and pineapples.
The collection contains a traditional floral pattern, "Bastide," with roses, lilies, delphiniums, and grape
hyacinths. "Greenwich," a large-scale trellis design, is decorated with provincial farm animals--cows, sheep, pigs,
geese, and roosters. In "Jazzette," birds' nests are depicted in fine detail surrounded by wheat and grasses. With
dressy, feminine appeal, "Fête" is a rich floral design of tulips and roses laced with ribbon.
