Newark, NJ – Tropical flora, delicate sea shells, and exotic fauna are portrayed in a chic, sophisticated fashion in Thibaut’s new “Laguna” collection. The varying wallpaper and fabric motifs, which reflect island beauty, are pictured with refined style and contemporary color treatments.

Expansive branches in “Mangosteen” blossom with succulent fruit and waxen leaves. This large-scale, modern design is featured in sunny and rich shades of gold and verdant green on light blue and butter backgrounds, and in shades of coral and salmon on light aqua and clean white backgrounds.

Kauai,” a large-scale bamboo trellis design, frames botanical cuttings of exotic flowers like tiger lilies, protea, and passionflowers. The cuttings are colorfully detailed and ornately embellished with tendrils and buds, and posed against calming background colors like sunbaked clay and light goldenrod.

Clusters of coral, delicate sea shells, sand dollars, and starfish are woven into the architecture of a scrolling arabesque in “Sand Key.” This elegant design appears on striking background colors, such as bright sky blue, coral, raspberry, and soft aqua. The shell clusters incorporate a multitude of earthy and deep colors that blend together in a soft but salient manner. A coordinating fabric, “Surf,” is an urbane, rich design of all-over pattern. The pattern has an alluring appeal reminiscent of ebbing tide movements over shallow coral reefs. The pattern coordinates very will with other designs throughout the book.

Coral Gables,” a sophisticated graphic coral design, is an open pattern featuring beautiful, intricate specimens. This is a single-color design featured in combinations of coral on white, coral on yellow, khaki on light aqua, and mineral and delft blue on white.

Palm leaves, branching vines, orchids, and bird of paradise weave throughout “Paradise,” a graceful branching design which incorporates daring, robust color backgrounds such as coffee bean, slate , wasabi, and aqua. “Biscayne,” another large-scale exotic design, features vignettes of large, elegantly-posed cockateals perched amid orchids and other tropical flowers. Vibrant background colors include cinnamon, black, and chocolate. Both these designs, as well as other in the collection, coordinate with “Tiki,” a textural design that resembles the fibrous, thatched roofs of island cottages.
