Mission
Newark, NJ –
Thibaut’s new “River Road” is a collection of rich, textural designs inspired by antique textiles and rugs. Chic, large-scale patterns include floral designs, paisleys, Jacobeans, bold silk stripes, and an elegant acanthus damask. With a wealth of design and detail, the patterns take on a tapestry appearance, and earthy, deep tones enhance their splendid appeal.
“Ballantyne,” based on a Jacobean fabric, is graced with large, fanciful flowers and stylized leaves. It is printed with an all-over texture that mimicks the weave of the original textile. Warm colors in the design appear over rich brown, tobacco, sage, and slate, as well as deep turquoise. The wallpaper and fabric are complemented by similar colors in “Duncan Stripe.” This wide, tonal and textural stripe is overlayed with fine pinstriping and gold metallic stitching. These accents resemble fine details found in the original antique fabric.
“Palisades,” is a simplified arabesque design with needlework texture from the Arts & Crafts period. The design appears in beige, taupe, black, khaki, and over a striking aqua ground. The texture and color give the pattern a masculine feel. “Fenwick,” is a geometric weave with rich, tapestry-like appearance. Colors include brown, sage, rust, and a lush blackberry. The tobacco pattern is brightened with metallic highlights.
The detailed paisley design “Arlington” is a softened rendition of a French Provincal document. Stippling in the leaves is particularly prominent in the rust and brown colorways, with the brown featuring gold metallic accents on the underside of leaves. There is a “casual elegance” to this design which makes it ideal for all types of rooms, from offices to bedrooms to dining rooms.
“Addison Damask” makes a majestic statement with its chic, large-scale design and metallic overlay that adds shimmer and brilliance. It comes in turquoise, cranberry, straw, and other deep colors. More subtle metallic highlights are found in the brown, black and rust colorways of “Kingsland” wallpaper. This is an aged, textural design incorporating thistle pods, leaves and crowns in an open, simplified layout. “Thistle Tapestry,” a heavy woven fabric, coordinates beautifully and is perfect for upholstered furnishings. It is also based on a stately document with thistle pods, leaves and crowns.
“Barrington,” a grand-scale Jacobean, is presented on opulent, saturated grounds of rust, tobacco, brown, navy, metallic gold and turquoise. The design also comes printed on a luxurious chenille fabric. “Mission,” another elegant design, was inspired by Persian rugs from the 17th century. The pattern has a woven textural look and comes in earthy tones including aqua and rich red. “Fairview,” has an aged, antique look with acanthus and oak leaves framing a floral bouquet of cabbage rose, tulips, and hollyhocks. Fabrics exist for each of these designs, and there are additional woven stripes, trellises and other coordinates.
